[原创][新闻]Ubuntu 8.04 开发完毕 代码已经冻结

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron非语言包翻译冻结,内核冻结.其进入了开发的最终冻结阶段,这预示着经历了六个Alpha版的和一个Beta版Ubuntu 8.04已定型,开发已经进入收尾工作.剩下的就是Bug修复了.一周后,就也是4月17日, Ubuntu 8.04 RC版将发布，同时语言包翻译截止.Ubuntu 8.04正式发布的版本将包括如下功能:

1. 首次为Linux操作系统增加Wubi安装功能，之前我们已经为大家介绍过这项功能，该功能的最大优势就是允许用户把uBuntu 8.04系统安装到Windows操作系统上，而不强制要求独立的硬盘分区。Ubuntu不影响任何Windows操作系统设置，用户可以像卸载任何 Windows应用程序一样卸载uBuntu系统。

2. KVM虚拟化技术，现在已经整合入Ubuntu 8.04，通过管理员权限，用户可以更容易的创建和管理虚拟机。
3. Inkscape 0.46，让Ubuntu原生支持PDF格式。
4. 增加一些例如世界时钟功能的Applet。
5. 用Brasero CD/DVD刻录软件替代之前使用Serpentine刻录软件。
6. 使用更易配置的防火墙程序，ufw
7. 额外的内存保护，以抵御root kits和其他恶意攻击代码。

This freeze period starts on April 10 and runs until the archive is
frozen for release. For that last 24 hours before uploads are stopped, all
uploads must be approved by motu-release (the delegations that have been
described no longer apply).

We are now one week out from the 8.04 LTS release candidate and two weeks
from the final release, so the archive is now frozen and will not thaw again
before release.

During the freeze, all uploads to main must be approved by a member of the
release team, so if you have fixes that are important to get in and will
need discussion, please do get in touch as soon as possible. Uploads to
main should at this point focus on release-critical bugs only.

The list of release-critical bugs that we want to still try to resolve
before the release candidate on April 17 is tracked here:

就是说开始冻结了啊。。。。。。。

但是楼主的标题用了已经，不够严谨

别为了冻结而冻结,当然不继续开发功能就等于实际的冻结;
可是为什么不能在3.10就冻结呢,好比如说"没有什么可以研究的了"-啥游戏里的台词

问题不会有，关键是升级后使用感受的提升有多少？　我现在还不太想放弃7.10 ,　对于8.04 ,等我买块硬盘后再说。
