Chinese inputing Software Problem !!

Sorry for my system,I can only input English
my ubuntu 7 can display Chinese!!!
but in scmi,I can not find chinese inputing software!!!

Know ,ubuntu is downloading packet,though i do not no what it is downloading
system shows there would be 5 hours for downloading these packets!!
and "openoffice help" is also in download list??? Why???
I only wan to install a chinese inputing software!!!
is that software need 5 hours to download???? so big???
