hat is the Open Collaboration Platform?
The Kablink and iFolder open source projects provide a powerful Open Collaboration Platform designed to enable communication and sharing within and between teams. The goals of the projects are aimed at increasing productivity in the workplace through intelligent collaboration.
Teaming
Kablink Teaming is a web-based team productivity suite that helps individuals be more productive across multiple teams. Teaming includes document management capabilities, workflow, expertise location, federated search, and a custom web form engine that allows users to create their own business objects. Oh, by the way, Kablink also offers team blogs, discussion forums, wikis, version control, and a host of other features that enable productivity in teams.
iFolder
Folder is a simple and secure storage solution that enables you to access, manage, and share your personal files-from anywhere, at anytime. Using iFolder, you can designate any network server as an iFolder server and publish information to a personal iFolder created on that server. Once your folder is established, you can install iFolder on the computers you regularly use and download information from your personal iFolder to any of those computers. Not only that, but using iFolder, you can also invite other iFolder users to share your files in the same safe and secure way so that your teams always have the most relevant copy of a document.
Conferencing
Kablink Conferencing offers a compelling real-time meeting solution that allows instant online virtual meetings. With Conferencing users get presence information about who's online and can start instant meetings that include application sharing, whiteboarding, presentations, and conference calling. With clients available for Windows, Linux, and Mac (coming soon) you can increase your team's productivity and reduce travel costs by installing Kablink Conferencing today.
Open Source and Free
The Kablink project is open source software, licensed under the Open Source Initiative (OSI) approved CPAL license. You are free to use Teamng and Conferencing free of charge and without limitation. Kablink Teaming and Conferencing are full featured products that have no user or time limit on usage. Kablink is the underlying project that powers Novell Teaming and Conferencing products. Novell Teaming and Conferencing offers a fully supported version of Kablink with maintenance and updates.
The iFolder project is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 You are free to use iFolder free of charge as long as you abide by the terms of the GPLv2. A commercial version of iFolder is avaiable from Novell and includes support and maintenance.
