screenlets在root账户下运行问题

我使用root 帐号登录，在 root下screenlets使用时出现“Important! You are running this application as root user, almost all functionality is disabled. You can use this to install screenlets into the system-wide path.”
大多数功能不能使用。请帮忙看看提示是什么意思

附：screenlets是一个侧边栏工具，就像vista的边栏
