为什么 linus从来不用debian的发行版

今天看到一个新闻，说linus目前使用的是fedora9,然后又说他本人从来不使用debian发行版，看起来他和debian有什么梁子啊，各位牛人有谁知道这个典故么？

debian最开始内核不是用的linux。

因为debian是纯系的GNU,RS又很不高兴gnu被linux抢了风头....

因为linus觉得debian/gentoo之流安装太麻烦，没有fedora来得简单

真实情况是：fedora是给他老婆使用的。他自己使用KDE，怎么可能用fedora，众所周知fedora的KDE是较差的KDE发行版之一。

最差也比gentoo好。

gentoo 的口碑一直都不太好，所以都没有列入我的考虑。。。有一阵子真想考虑，结果一进去看到它的缺省桌面是gnome，后来就再也不想给它机会了。

相反我发现 arch 在中国的口碑相当之好。虽然在 distrowatch 上的排名不高，但是它的实际表现令人惊讶。

Debian 需要什么都编译吗？为此我看了原文，发现原来Matrix周末偷懒呢：

So the only distributions I have actively avoided are the ones that are known to be "overly technical" - like the ones that encourage you to compile your own programs etc.

Yeah, I can do it, but it kind of defeats the whole point of a distribution for me. So I like the ones that have a name of being easy to use. I've never used plain Debian, for example, but I like Ubuntu. And before Debian people attack me - yeah, I know, I know, it's supposedly much simpler and easier to install these days. But it certainly didn't use to be, so I never had any reason to go for it.

See, 不喜欢编译说是在第一段，不用Debian 是在第二段，没有直接的因果关系。而且I've never used plain Debian, for example, but I like Ubuntu.
