Open Solaris将成为Linux杀手

有一张，open Solaris 的光盘，一直还没有安装呢。

刚装了ubuntu，感觉很好啊，solaris暂时不考虑了。
光盘上竟然说solaris是世界上最先进的操作系统之一，够能吹的。。。

吹大了，我会用UBUNTU,但是不会SUN的那个，虽然我有光盘。

无显卡驱动。或者又得我等。。我等的够多了。好不容易等ati的linux驱动现在非常满意了。不想再等这个的驱动，其实我还是倾向于unix的。

sun公司的那个系统桌面用的是java编的……可想而知啦，java那个东西还是需要进步的，而且是很大的进步的，尤其是在绘图表现上哈！

opensolaris。。。我的笔记本大多硬件都不支持。想用也用不了。
他发布所采用的协议。。怎么说呢。看上去很难受。还不如和微软一样算了。

大家有谁用过Solaris?
我曾经尝试过装Solaris 10
但是刚刚装完电脑就崩溃了.
残念...

大部分情况下，我们应用发布还是在solaris上的（我是j2ee开发）
solaris装在x86和linux几乎是没有可比性的（我说的是solaris10,没装过opensolaris)
尤其是一台512M内存的，赛扬1.7的普通pc，我centos+oracle 9i没得问题
装了1个solaris 10，再装个oracle 9i（安装大概要30多分钟），我就可以不要干其他事情了。

solaris还是跑在sparc比较好。

2. Find out if you have enough memory. Solaris requires at least 256 MB of memory for a normal installation. However, for PXE booting, 512 MB is the recommended amount.

3. Make sure you have enough disk space. A minimum of 2 GB of available space on your hard drive is recommended.

4. Make sure you have the latest and greatest software. If you prefer to have Solaris 10 installation DVDs and CDs as well as hard copies of accompanying documentation, you may purchase a Solaris 10 media kit.
You may also choose to download the software images and burn your own copy of the Solaris 10 media for free. This typically requires access to a high-speed Internet connection.

5. Ensure the applications you wish to run are supported. Sun's continued commitment to binary compatibility between operating system releases means that your applications are guaranteed to run unmodified on Solaris 10.

最好是。Linux 吸收 Sorlis 的先进；而 Solaris 也 吸收 Linux 的先进。互相竞争，互相进步。

Solaris 敢把它的内核开源。 Linux 的精英难道就看不懂？

传说中的残废的opensolaris。呵呵。。。。。不幸的是sun在不停的修改他的发布版权

OpenSolaris2008.05刚刚准备装的，可是LiveCD上一看不支持我的声卡，Ubuntu7.10的也是这样，但是8.04就没问题了，所以决定先不装了，继续Ubuntu
