The Windows OS registry is a database of information. It is a table of all the important information windows needs in order to work properly. 
Let us take a simple example to explain this. If you have a small table of telephone numbers, say 15 numbers and you need to find one of these numbers according to a name, you will do it in less than a second. Now over a period of time you keep on adding more names and numbers to your list. If you have a table of 1087 phone numbers printed on 17 pages and you need to find one number according to a name… this can take a while, even a few minutes to find. 
This is exactly what happen to your Windows OS over a period of time and why it becomes very slow. When the installment of the operating system on the PC is fresh and clean, the registry is small list. The windows itself and other applications installed can find their data fast. But when your Windows is a few months old, you have already browsed the net for hours. Besides, you would have installed new software and games, downloaded videos and images and so on. Naturally, your PC registry is getting bigger every day and each application that is looking for something inside. No wonder then that it takes much more time for it to retrieve the same information.

What Is The Main Reasons For Slow Computers?

The increased size of the registry is one of the main issues that make your PC slower with time, but it is not the only parameter.
Undeleted files and folders which are no longer used make your PC slower as well.
Large amount of temporary files in your temp folders caused by Internet browsing can also makes you computer become slower.
An infection by a virus/spyware/adware or any other malware can also cause your PC to be very slow and unstable.
A combination of the above is generally the reason for a slowing down of the computer..

而且WIN一个组件的问题能影响所有其他的组件，这就是所说的臃肿，不是垃圾文件多，文件再多也只是占硬盘而己。
组件出问题了几乎没有简单修复的办法，多数是重装。。
linux则不然，各自分工，所有部件都能独立安装和修复，互相影响的情况不大。

能修复，准备好虚拟光驱一个，下载一个XPSP3光盘，然后运行SFC/scannow

windows越用越臃肿是针对windows的大部分用户是电脑技能很有限的人来说的，而对于一个比较精通windows的老手还是能尽量的避免这个问题。
不过，像注册表之类的东西确实是很弱的设计，windows如果不从底层重做的话，以目前的发展看来是很难摆脱这些弱点的。
从这些层面来说，其实windows不是一个真正适合用来普及的操作系统，论用户友好和傻瓜方面以及简单、易用程度来说，苹果的mac os X都超过windows非常非常多。

其实windows7已经做得很好了，你那观点都是XP遗留下来的。。。
windows7也建议只用单分区的。

这要看是谁用。小白一样玩完。

嗯，我觉得这个说法有道理。只是啊，因为咱对开源精神的崇尚，总是愿意发自内心地认为Linux比Win 更高级、更科学、更合理、更牛逼。。。
不过，也许真的就是Lin更牛逼一些。。。

win下程序都装C盘也没啥吧，程序文件你又不是天天动，动的是配置文件和缓存神马的。

linux也肯定会有很多垃圾，装了bleachbit你就知道了 。不过这些都很好清除，不像windows那么恶心

学22楼的，新建用户...不要用administrator...

我对win最纠结的是，内存使用的效率太低....没事你老往Pagefile.sys写啥数据....

至于臃肿，个人认为第三方软件的质量问题......

而GNU/Linux下，则是通过各发行版包管理器来管理各软件包，除了用户目录的配置，不存在卸不干净的问题......
